Guru’s Flame

guru's flame

My mind is enticed by the Guru’s sweet flame,
Beholding His presence, I’m never the same.
Wonder strikes deeply, illusions all fall,
The Name of the Lord is the anchor of all.

The shackles of Maya, once binding and tight,
Are shattered to pieces in radiant Light.
Focusing gently on Naam’s sacred sound,
I rise from the ashes, no longer bound.

Through dark endless nights I wandered in vain,
A prisoner of sorrow, entangled in pain.
But one drop of Grace from the Guru so kind,
Awakened my soul and illumined my mind.

O Beautiful Master, beyond all compare,
Your mercy rains down, dissolving despair.
Servant Nanak proclaims in awe so true,
None can exist that equals You.

Let this Light flow, O Source of the flame,
To thirsty and meek, to sick and to lame.
Distribute Your nectar, O Shabd’s sweet song,
To the lost and forgotten who’ve wandered too long.

The sound current rises, the soul takes its flight,
Beyond every shadow, into realms of pure Light.
Every name, every tongue, bows before You,
O Eternal Beloved, forever True.

So let Mercy pour down, O Guru Divine,
May hearts break their chains, may all lives align.
Naam is the river, Shabd is the key,
Through Your boundless compassion, the whole world is free.
